Description |
Lee Savage produced a series of prints based upon James Joyce's novel, "Ulysses". The novel follows a day in the life of a man, Leopold Bloom, in Dublin, Ireland. As a groundbreaking work of modern fiction, "Ulysses" combines symbolism, mythology, social realism and philosophy. It is considered a masterwork of modern writing because of Joyce's use of puns, parodies, allusions and stream-of-consciousness narrative. Published in 1922, "Ulysses" was considered controversial because of its content. |
