Description |
Rhoads earned her MFA in painting from the University of Pennsylvania in 1989 and her BFA from Western Carolina University in 1983. She attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 1989 on a full fellowship. Rhoads currently serves as an Associate Professor of Art, teaching painting and drawing. She maintains a studio in Central Virginia and in Roque Bluffs, Maine. For over twenty-five years Beverly Rhoads has painted from the figure and landscape. She has participated in numerous national one-person and group exhibitions and has received critical attention for her work in contemporary figuration. Currently, Rhoads splits her time between her studio in Virginia and her summer home in Down East Maine. Her work is generally defined as "contemporary figuration." |
