Description |
Marjory Ann Moses was born Charleston in 1951, and was educated at Hollins College in Virginia from 1969-1970 and at West Virginia University from 1970-1973 with a Bachelors Degree in Art. Her work is mainly concerned with the human figure as a shape, and in relation to space, to others, and to it's environment. Primarily working with wood and in black and white the bold and elementary structure of her prints make a statement about human moods, emotions, shapes, ideas, and relationships. Equally important to the artist is creating strong shapes and spatial interplay between the black and white in order to reinforce the composition and ideals behind the work. |
